Our Vision
At Puptacular K9, our vision is to help all families and pet parents have a rewarding experience with their pets. We strive to provide you and your pets with the absolute BEST experience, whether it be with a routine bath and brush, introducing puppies to clippers for the first time, or dealing with difficult behaviours. We will always put your pets first.

Our Passion
Our passion is pets. While we specialize in dogs, we love pets of all kinds! We enjoy expanding our knowledge by attending seminars, events and competitions to bring you the best and latest techniques. Nina Maillet
Nina has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and has a passion for dog training, breeding and behaviour. From the time Nina learned to read, she immersed herself into reading about dogs, horses, and other animals, reading books from authors such as Monty Roberts, Pat Miller, Dr. Stanley Coren etc . Her favourite TV show was "Good Dog" with Dr. Stanley Coren, but would settle for anything pet related. At 16, Nina knew she wanted to train dogs for a living and began taking dog training classes at Doggone Pawsitive with her dog Bailey. It wasn't long before local CPDT-KA trainer Shelley Hunter took a special interest in Nina and decided to offer her an apprenticeship position. Nina took advantage of the opportunity and began her official education about science based training methods. During this time, Nina also learned about dog behaviour and interactions by working in a large, successful doggy daycare facility. Nina then moved to Alberta where she found a mentor in Ethical dog breeding practices and apprenticed under certified groomers. In her early adult years Nina discovered dog sports and learned about agility, trick training, competitive obedience and competitive rally obedience. Nina was hired to train and compete with Registered Standard Poodle breeder Strathglen Poodles and achieved mostly wins and perfect scores in Rally Novice, Advanced and Excellent titling multiple dogs and taking home a multitude of ribbons. Nina also participated in K9 Search and Rescue which consisted of intense weekly training sessions and many seminars. Nina honed her skills with her Belgian Malinois Loki, and learned about air scenting and other advanced training related to K9 SAR. She also has experience in training PTSD, Diabetic alert, Cardiac alert and mobility service dogs as well as limited experience in bitework, hunting, herding and dock diving. Nina's future training goals include opening a service dog training program and achieving the elite CPDT-KA training certification. Nina is not only a trainer and breeder, but an experienced dog groomer with over 15 years of experience.
